The Oakleaf spouses group invites you to a Tour of NMCSD.
Join us for a private tour of the Navy's finest medical facility, the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), informally referred to as Balboa Hospital. Providing cutting edge medical treatments to thousands of sailors and dependents each year, the hospital is located within the grounds of Balboa Park and has played a role in the history of San Diego for more than 100 years.
Our guide, Mike Alvarez, has led tours for hundreds of community leaders, explaining the most unique and advanced capabilities used to heal and support Navy patients. After a one-hour tour, we will break for lunch in the galley (buy your own lunch) and visit the on base Fisher House. We will end our visit by 2:00pm. Following, guests can also make a self-guided visit to the "Pink Palace" in Balboa park, the original Navy Hospital, now used to house offices for the Parks and Recreation Department. The guest list will be limited to 25. Please meet in the Quarterdeck lobby, by the Sand Dollar Collection gift shop. With any questions or comments please call or text 202-657-7179
